    Vibrant, colorful Indian dance festival to serenade California festival

    The Los Angeles Indian Dance Fest 2024 is set to be the city's most anticipated classical dance event, celebrating the rich traditions of Indian classical arts. Scheduled for September 14-15, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the festival will be held at the TAXCO Theatre, located at 7242 Owensmouth Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303.

    This vibrant festival will showcase award-winning dance companies from Los Angeles, Arizona, and India, including local Indian dance schools such as Laya Naadham School of Music, Kathak Kala Kendra, Soorya Ensemble, Nataraja Arts Academy, SciArtsRUs, and ShivaShakthi Natyalaya. Notable artists performing include Ramya Ranganathan from Arizona, Namita Bodaji from Mumbai, and Hari and Chetana from Bangalore.

    The festival will also feature special presentations from elected officials, including U.S. Representative Brad Sherman, CA State Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel, CA State Senator Caroline Menjivar, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath.

    Organized by the Soorya Foundation for Performing Arts, a nonprofit founded by award-winning BharathaNatyam dancer Sushma Mohan, the event is supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, and the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
