The California High-Speed Rail Authority announced on Friday that several road closures will take effect in Fresno County starting October 9 as part of the California High-Speed Rail Project.

Permanent closures will occur along Clarkson Avenue at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clovis and Peach avenues, and at Minnewawa Avenue at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clarkson and Elkhorn avenues.

During construction, cul-de-sacs and a temporary roadway will be established. Drivers traveling eastbound on Clarkson Avenue will be rerouted north on Peach Avenue, east on Conejo Avenue, south on Clovis Avenue, and then back east on Clarkson Avenue. Westbound traffic will be detoured north on Clovis Avenue, west on Conejo Avenue, south on Peach Avenue, and then west on Clarkson Avenue.
