Becca Kufrin’s son will have a seriously cool story to share in the future about the day he took his first steps.
The Bachelorette alum’s son Benson , who turns 1 later this month, was caught on video taking his first steps in the presence of two icons: Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles . The gold medalists, who dominated at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, earlier this summer, were rehearsing for their upcoming Gold Over America Tour when they met the 11-month-old and his parents.
Kufrin and her husband, fellow Bachelor in Paradise star Thomas Jacobs , shared the special moment in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, Sept. 14. Their video montage began with a view of Benson seemingly captivated by Biles, 27, practicing on the mats in front of him. Following a clip showing Jacobs carefully holding the toddler as he practiced taking steps on a balance beam, the video then shifted to a clip showing Chiles, 23, guiding Benson as he practiced walking.
Benson took several steps while Chiles held onto his hands before she let go. He then toddled a couple of teetering steps on his own before Jacobs caught his son and swung him up into the air in celebration. Kufrin jumped up and screamed in excitement as she absorbed the milestone moment.
“Benny took his first steps!” Jacobs wrote in their joint Instagram post’s caption. “All it took was motivation watching @simonebiles 🐐 , training/encouragement with @jordanchiles and the @goldoveramericatour floor mats! Unbelievable 🙏🏽💜.”
In her comment on the post, Biles revealed that she too was thrilled to watch the happy moment in real time, writing, “not me almost passing out from screaming I was so excited 😂👏🏾 so good!!! OMG.”
The video prompted amazed comments from fans, many of whom felt excited on Benson’s behalf for the story he’ll one day get to share with others.
“Well if that isn’t the most iconic first steps story ever!” one fan wrote.
“What a moment for him to watch one day!!! ✨,” another fan agreed.
“Wow! What a wonderful way to achieve your first steps! He’ll be able to boast about this story when he gets older and for the rest of his life! ♥️✨,” one Instagram user pointed out.

The proud mom’s reaction also inspired a few sweet comments, with one person writing, “Awwww you guys are so cute with your reaction,” as another declared, “Becca’s reaction is all of us!”
