When Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers left the game against UTSA in the second quarter with an injury, fans inside Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium likely held their breath for a second.

Ewers was helped to the sideline and sophomore signal-caller Arch Manning took his place. Manning led UT on a four-play, 72-Yard touchdown drive, and on the ensuing drive he executed a play that left a few jaws on the floor.

After faking a handoff to Quintrevion Wisner, Manning pulled the ball back, faked out edge-rusher Jimmori Robinson and ran past defensive back Elliott Davison and out-ran the rest of the UTSA defense en route to a 67-yard touchdown.

The Longhorns official X account tweeted a video of Manning’s run with the caption “CAN’T TOUCH HIM.” The video went viral with nearly 400,000 views.

Manning filled in more than admirably in Ewers’ absence. He completed 7 of 10 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns in addition to his rushing touchdown through three quarters.

Manning led the Longhorns to touchdowns on four of eight drives after stepping in for Ewers.

Saturday is the second game that Manning saw significant playing time. He completed 5 of 6 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing touchdown in Texas’ 52-0 rout of Colorado State two weeks ago.
