Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney has confirmed that the Gilgo Beach press conference scheduled for Monday is regarding new information about the unidentified male victim known as “Asian Doe.” The briefing will be given at 10 a.m. from the Suffolk County Police Academy in Brentwood. They are expected to show a new sketch of the Gilgo Beach victim called "Asian Doe." His remains were recovered along Ocean Parkway in April of 2011. Experts say the goal is for police to learn more about the victim. “Right now, they don't have enough, so they're just doing any resources available and this new sketch that they did, I know they did one in the past, this will be more forensically correct for the victim's remains. I believe the skull and that's what they're going to release to the public," said David Sarni, a retired NYPD detective and adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. As News 12 reported, investigators estimate the man died five to 10 years prior. They believe he was in his late teens or early 20s at the time of his death. “This individual has not been tied to anyone, and I think what they're trying to do is try to get that out into the open because the community has been very helpful," Sarni added. The D.A. will also give an update on the ongoing investigations conducted by the Gilgo Beach Homicide Investigation Task Force. “You’re innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, so they're going to gather as much information as possible even though they have very good evidence. There's always sometimes never enough evidence to have,” Sarni said. Suspected serial killer, Rex Heuermann who was initially charged in 2023 with the murders of the Gilgo four, was charged over the summer in the deaths of two more women. He is currently in jail. No trial date has been set. As far as the "Asian Doe" case, no one has been connected to his murder. "
