Jackson Street bridge to be closed on 9/16

The Jackson Street bridge will be closed for three weeks starting on Monday, September 16. The bridge will be closed so that electrical work can be done along with other mechanical repairs.

For the next three weeks, you will have some alternative routes through downtown Joliet. The best detour route would be to use the Ruby Street bridge over the next 21 days whether you are going west or east over the river. Another route to use would be the Cass Street bridge (US Route 30) if you are going westbound. However, the bridge is down to one lane at this time. One other route that you could use is the Jefferson Street bridge if you are going eastbound.

Please plan to leave a little bit earlier than usual if you have to drive to downtown Joliet.
