Texas Longhorns backup quarterback Arch Manning didn't look like it, but he was nervous when he took over for the injured Quinn Ewers during their Saturday showdown with the UTSA Roadrunners.

Ewers was forced to leave the Week 3 showdown after suffering a strained abdomen. Manning then took over and quickly impressed, tallying two touchdowns in just three plays.

In fact, right after Manning came in, he delivered a touchdown pass to DeAndre Moore. Minutes later, he shocked all of college football with a 67-yard run for another score to put the Longhorns up 21-0.

It surely looked like Manning was born for the moment and that he's ready for the opportunity. Nonetheless, speaking to reporters postgame, the 19-year-old signal-caller confessed he was a bit anxious replacing Ewers.

" Obviously you're a little nervous when you first get called in," Manning explained, per Inside Texas. He went on to give credit to head coach Steve Sarkisian, whom Manning said "drew up a good first play" to get him going.

"It was good to score on the first play. It felt good," Manning added.

Arch Manning's first touchdown certainly set the tone for him in the game. Perhaps it was also crucial in helping him ease his nerves. He ended up with 223 passing yards and four touchdowns on 9-of-12 pass completion, which is on top of his one score on the ground.

While Sarkisian should be acknowledged for putting Manning in a great position to thrive, Eli and Peyton Manning's popular nephew definitely deserves most of the credit for stepping up when the team needed him the most.

After his breakout performance, Manning will probably be less nervous the next time he takes the field in a crucial moment.
