David Pollack Makes ‘Unpopular’ Declaration Against His Former College Football Team

Week 3 of the college football season nearly provided a major upset. Yet, the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs pulled off a close 13-12 win on the road against Kentucky.

Georgia did not score a touchdown until the fourth quarter and trailed 6-3 at halftime. Heisman Trophy candidate Carson Beck threw for just 160 yards with no scores, and the only touchdown by either team was Branson Robinson's three-yard punch in at the start of the final quarter.

Nonetheless, Georgia won, albeit with a concerning result in the end.

After the game, former Bulldog linebacker and current college football analyst David Pollack had an 'unpopular' opinion of Georgia.

"This will be very unpopular amongst Georgia fans," Pollack wrote on X. "I see a lot of really good players on offense but I don’t see a lot of great."

Pollack was a star linebacker at Georgia from 2001 until 2004 and then ended up being selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft, so he knows a thing or two about Bulldogs football.

However, as Pollack said, it would be an "unpopular" opinion.

The Bulldogs' offense was concerning in Week 3 as they had just 262 total yards, with 160 in the air and 102 in the rushing game.

Beck entered the year with Heisman potential, but he has just seven touchdowns through three games and has yet to throw for more than 300 in a single game.

Georgia has also yet to have a single 100-yard rusher in any game this year, and they have not had a wide receiver eclipse the 100-yard mark, either.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, Georgia saw all of Brock Bowers, Ladd McKoney, Amarius Mims, and Sedrick Van Pran hear their names called, so that is four offensive pieces and two big-time playmakers in Bowers and McConkey.

Still, for a team that has won two national titles in the past four years, the expectations are high in Athens. The Bulldogs are 3-0 so far, but a one-point loss against Kentucky -- in a game where the offense scored just one touchdown-- is not encouraging by any means.
