Chiefs Got To 'Work Our Tail Off' To Slay Bengals

    By Adam Schultz,

    2024-09-15

The Kansas City Chiefs will be aiming to start the season 2-0 when they host the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 2.

After beating the Baltimore Ravens, the Chiefs already have a leg up in the AFC and with a win over the Bengals, Kansas City would have slayed two AFC contenders in consecutive weeks.

But despite the Bengals losing 16-10 in Week 1 against the New England Patriots, tight end Noah Gray is under no illusions as to what threat they face on Sunday.

“It’s a phenomenal team, everybody knows that,” Gray said . “Their defense is absolutely incredible their front D [defensive] line especially those edge rushers are great, we got to work cut out for us there. The linebackers have been there for three, four years now together, back end wise, they're extremely good so they present a lot of challenges, and we're really looking forward to it. We understand that they're a phenomenal team and we got to go and work our tail off to beat them.”

The Chiefs and Bengals matchups have often been games that go down to the wire.

In the last five meetings, in which the Bengals hold a 3-2 lead, each game has been decided by one score, and nothing tells us that Sunday will be any different.

The defending champs are always going to get every team's best shot, and Cincinnati's is better than most.

While there are some question marks over how the Bengals start the season so slowly, with the Chiefs, one can expect that Joe Burrow and Co. will be up for this one.

The next chapter in this fierce rivalry is about to be written.
