I was 6 when I lost my dad. It was a hard time for me. I told my mother I wanted another dad, and I just want to say, you don't have to fill everything your kid says. My mother started putting him over me and then wondered why I told him he wouldn't replace my dad. I went into foster care, and it turns out he was a horrible person, and the worst thing was she knew. Be careful what you want. You may regret trying to replace someone. They will never be replaced. Even if you have another brother, he most likely won't be the same as your last one. Of course it's up to the mom, but I think it's best to teach the daughter this now as well, in case she was to get another sibling so she don't tell them she misses her brother and wish they weren't born.
