We all love tiramisu; what is there not to love? Sweet, easy to prepare, and always welcome to our table,

Here is a more accessible version: no eggs, and in just 20 minutes, you have a no-bake great pumpkin dessert for your family and friends.

    What is Tiramisu?

The classic Tiramisu recipe is a coffee-flavored Italian dessert. Ladyfingers are delicate cookies dipped in espresso or robust coffee, layers with a whipped mixture of mascarpone, eggs, and sugar.

Translate “Tiramisu” means “pick me up.” In Italy, in mid to late afternoon, due to the late dinner, children are given a small dessert to carry to dinner without compromising their dinner appetite.

    Thus the name tiramisu.

    What Coffee to use?

One of the critical ingredients is coffee. A vibrant and strong coffee is what works best for the savoiardi cookies.

I only drink espresso by Lavazza prepared in my Bialetti Espresso Maker. My favorite. Rich and full of body. I do not expect you to go out and buy one.

Therefore, make your favorite coffee very strong for this recipe.

Nescafe granules can be used in this recipe. Do make the coffee strong by limiting the amount of water.

What is Pumpkin pie spice made of?

A wonderful aromatic blend of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.

You can have a store-bought jar. Or, as I have it here, you can make your own. I always choose the ladder.

At the beginning of every season, I make a fresh batch of pumpkin pie spice for all my fall baking. Easy to have on hand when needed.

And because it is where I can reach it faster, I use it more often in all my fall desserts.

The best thing is that it makes almost 2.5 tablespoons of great spice that you can store in a glass jar and use anytime during the holidays.

The perfect balance between cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and clove.

I see some fantastic pumpkin bread and pumpkin spiced latte soon.

Here are a few helpful tips for the ingredients needed to make this easy Tiramisu recipe.

Savoiardi: Only buy Italian. They are the best. The link is below for the one I recommend and only use.

Pumpkin Spice – as per my instructions below, pass it through a small sieve to remove any chunks that may have formed.

Pumpkin puree – If you do not plan to use it all, buy a small can. Most noteworthy, pumpkin puree will not store well in the refrigerator for several days.

Mascarpone cheese – The Italian creamy cheese that is the staple with all tiramisu. Added with the heavy cream and the pumpkin puree, it helps create a beautiful dessert.

Heavy cream – creates the richness of this tiramisu recipe. While beating, it solidifies and creates the creaminess of this tiramisu.

Turbinado sugar – derived from sugar cane- brings caramel flavor to your dessert.

Espresso coffee – The more robust, the better. You want that rich coffee with your savoiardi cookie to balance off the pumpkin cream.

White chocolate – shaving for decoration. This adds a layer of depth to your pumpkin tiramisu.

    Equipment Needed

I only recommend what I love and use.

Espresso maker – Bialetti is my go-to and most reliable of all the small espresso makers. Make sure your coffee is tapped down and strong.

KitchenAid stand mixer – fitted with the whisk attachment.

Medium bowl – to mix the heavy cream and sugar

Serving glasses – you want beautiful glasses to showcase your tiramisu.

Step by step to make this fantastic pumpkin dessert recipe

    • Make your pie spice first.
    • Make the espresso coffee and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar is melted and set aside. It has to be cooled off.
    • While the coffee is brewing, prepare the pumpkin mascarpone mixture by mixing the heavy cream, mascarpone, pumpkin puree, and half of the spices. You should have a whipped cream consistency.
    • Start at a low setting when working with the above in your mixer. The liquid will splatter all around you. Increase as you go.
    • Whisk the remaining heavy cream in a separate bowl until stiff peaks are formed. Do not over-whip. Set aside.

    Assembling

Now that you have all the ingredients prepared it is time to assemble your dessert.

This will go fast; do not worry if it does not look uniform. Your cream and savoiardi will move around settling, so perfection is not required.

    • Dip your savoiardi in the coffee and line the bottom of your glass or container of choice.
    • Add a healthy spoonful of the mascarpone mixture. Add another layer of coffee-soaked savoiardi and another layer of mascarpone mixture.
    • Finish up with a dollop or more of whipped cream.
    • White chocolate shaving.

    Grab a spoon and enjoy!

Ingredients needed to make this wonderful Pumpkin Tiramisu dessert

    • 2 cups heavy cream
    • 8 ounces mascarpone
    • 1 cup pumpkin puree,
    • ½ cup turbinado sugar,
    • 4 tablespoons turbinado sugar
    • 1 ½ cup espresso coffee,
    • 7 ounces Savoiardi cookies,
    • 2 ounces white chocolate, shaved
    • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

    PUMPKIN PIE SPICE

    • 4 teaspoons cinnamon,
    • 2 teaspoons ground ginger,
    • ½ teaspoon nutmeg,
    • 1 teaspoon ground clove,

    Instructions

    PUMPKIN PIE SPICE

    • Add the above spices to a small dish and mix them well. Put the mixture through a small hole’s sieve to sift out any large or chunks of spices that did not separate well.
    • Seal in a glass jar and use as needed.

    PUMPKIN TIRAMISU

    • Prepare the espresso coffee. Once done, pour it into a flat bowl, add 3 tablespoons of sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Let it cool off.
    • Meanwhile in a large bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine 1 ½ cups heavy cream, mascarpone, pumpkin, ½ cup sugar, and the pumpkin pie spice. Beat starting slowly and increase to high speed until you reach a stiff whipped cream.
    • In a medium bowl beat the remaining ½ cup heavy cream with 1 tablespoon sugar until stiff peaks are formed.
    • Either use 6 glasses, ramekins, or a medium rectangular dish. Dip the savoiardi in the coffee and line the bottom of the dish or ramekin with them.
    • Top with a layer of the pumpkin-mascarpone cream. Top with another layer of savoiardi dipped in coffee and another layer of the pumpkin mixture.
    • Top each serving with a generous spoonful of whipped cream and shaved chocolate.

What is the difference between a pumpkin spice recipe and a pumpkin pie spice?

This is a very often asked question. Neither of them contains pumpkin.

It is, however, the blend of spices usually found in pumpkin pie recipes.

Pumpkin spice, also known as pumpkin pie spice, is a mixture of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.

    Substitutes and suggestions

    • The white chocolate shaving adds another fun touch to this pumpkin tiramisu recipe. Optional if you do not have it on hand.
    • A light dust of cocoa powder is also fun to add. Be delicate with it.
    • You can add to the coffee Amaretto di Saronno to give it a more Italian flair or rum for a Caribbean twist that I leave up to you.
    • I have replaced the turbinado sugar with white sugar, and it works great, too, so there is no need for a memorable trip to the store if you forget them or have none on hand.

Serve it in small glasses for a dramatic presentation, ramekins, or a rectangular dish.

Your new Pumpkin Tiramisu will be a hit with everyone at any time of the year.

    Storage

Your wonderful dessert can be stored in an air-tight glass container for two days. I will not go longer as the savoiardi cookie will break down too much.

However, you can prepare the the pumpkin spice any time and store it on a jar for all your baking needs during the season.

Make your cream mixture the night before if you wish.
