AlamogordoTownNews.org has led in reporting and the residents of local mobile home parks have mobilized in 2024, as a force to be reckoned with concerning abhorrent conditions of several area parks.

Local residents such as Amber Skies resident, Carolyn Ross, Mr. Gary Perry wnd others have pressured local politicians to action as a result of parks without gas, water and basic upkeep as required by law. These individuals have championed compliance with the New Mexico Mobile Home Act, engaging with the Attorney General's Office and media.

According to resident Gary Perry, "our issue with Mr. Dunn, the California owner, is that he drags his feet on repairs. I recently (August 9, 2024) had to get the NM AG's office to intervene with Mr. Dunn to get a timely repair on one of our parks' many water breaks so the residents didn't have to go without water for 3 days over the weekend. Since moving here in August of 2019 I can't even count how many times the gate has been broken and repairs have been delayed. On June 1, 2024 Mr. Dunn increased our lot rent by almost 12%. Amber Skies generates over $600,000 annual revenue to Mr. Dunn. There is no excuse for the delays we are encountering in fixing the gate after five weeks.

Of course, Mr. Dunn may be reeling from what it is going to cost him to fix the gas problem at Desert Palms. Maybe that's why he won't spend the money to fix our security gate!

Though the gate itself has not yet been repaired there is a spark if hope that the ownership is actually listening to resident and AG demands concerning upkeep as it
appears that the California owner has decided to yield to pressure from the AG, residents and media. There are still problems with the gate and other reported "intimidation aspects from management" but now management has announced an upgrade is abozt to begin.

Notice of Road / Water Line Construction

A replacement of the existing older saddles that are deteriorating on our water lines will be taking placeStarting Monday, Sept. 16th and will commence over the next couple of months.

Please understand that the work will be messy and every effort will be taken to ensure that construction of the roads,replacements of the water service saddles and the interruption of water services being turned off, will be addressed as minimally as possible.Do expect to not have water intermittently during this process from 8am to 6pm on a daily basis until construction/replacement is complete.

We can only do what we can and that is a plan to not disrupt you as much as possible and to keep the water outage to a minimum.

Road to your home may be detoured while construction is taking place, because the road will be dug up, holes will be made,and workers will be doing their job. Avoid this area if possible as to not slow the process of the scheduled work.
