Family Signs Goldendoodle's Cone After Her Visit to the Vet in Act of Pure Sweetness

Unfortunately, there are a lot of reasons why our pets might come home from the vet wearing a cone (or as some people call it, an e-collar). If they've had surgery, injured themselves, or had another kind of procedure that means it's incredibly important they don't mess with an area behind their head as it heals, that collar is probably leaving with them.

Even though their intention is to keep our pets safe, it makes total sense that dogs don't like them — it's a hard plastic cone, so there's no way that's comfortable, and after a stressful vet visit, they probably just want to be able to go home and nap in total comfort someplace familiar. But one family did manage to find a way to show their Goldendoodle some love in the process.

On Wednesday, September 12, @ryleepetersenn shared this sweet video of her Goldendoodle pup after she came home from the vet in a cone. But to show their support, her family was there to see her when she got home, and then, they all signed her cone with sweet messages.

It's like how people sign casts when someone broke a bone — but the dog version. Even the vet's office got in on it, leaving a message of their own for this sweet pup, whose name is Carol.

This is too cute, and not only does it show support for the dog (who definitely deserves extra pets and attention if they're in a cone) but it also reminds the dog's humans of how loved their family is, which can go a long way when they're stressed about their pet being sick or injured.

And if I were Carol, I'd be feeling pretty good about how loved I am right about now.

    More About Carol's Medical Journey

If you follow this dog's mom already, you know that Carol is going through it these days. It looks like she's been in a cone on and off for the last couple of months, though more recently, she had a belly infection that required it.

In a video that she shared after she showed off Carol's cone, she also gave a little PSA to dog parents who live in an area where foxtail weeds are common.

After Carol's wound was taking way too long to heal, she took her back to the vet , where the doctors discovered that she had multiple foxtails stuck in the wound, which were hard to see and preventing her body from healing.

Apparently, these foxtails can burrow into your dog's skin, which can be really easy to miss, so be sure to check your pup thoroughly if they're outside near these weeds!

Here's hoping Carol is on the mend ASAP. She's too cute!
