George Kittle has long since been one of the best tight ends in the NFL, establishing himself as a premier player at his position as early as his second season in the NFL.

The San Francisco 49ers star was the best tight end in the league last year, earning first-team All-Pro honors and, during Sunday's Week 2 clash with the Minnesota Vikings , he added to a burgeoning Hall of Fame resume by surpassing a tight end already enshrined in Canton.

Kittle headed into the game, the 100th of his career, needing only 17 receiving yards to leapfrog Kellen Winslow Sr. for the third-most by a tight end in their first 100 games. The 2017 fifth-round pick had 6,314 receiving yards following the Week 1 win over the New York Jets.

He achieved that feat by making a 25-yard reception in the first quarter against Minnesota.

One of the main knocks on Kittle coming into the league was a lack of production during his collegiate career at Iowa, where he was primarily used as a blocker.

Production has been no problem for Kittle in the pros, however, as he has thrived in Kyle Shanahan's offense. With his latest achievement, a Hall of Fame talent has taken another step towards eventually ending up in Canton when all is said and done.
