The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs were able to hold on for a win against upset-minded Kentucky on Saturday, but the game was not without its controversy.

The Bulldogs struggled to move the ball against an aggressive Wildcats defense, eventually holding on to win 13-12 and move to 3-0. Some fans believe that Kentucky was robbed of a chance at the upset after several questionable calls from officials, leading to calls for the crew to be investigated by the SEC.

One of the most questionable calls came when Kentucky was whistled for a facemask penalty on a play when a Georgia player ripped the helmet off Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox on a tackle.

"I don't care if Georgia or Kentucky wins, but the Georgia player ripping the helmet off of the Kentucky running back by the face mask and not getting a flag is crazy," a fan wrote.

Many fans appealed directly to the SEC to review the officiating.

Some believe there were questionable calls across the SEC on Saturday.

"So apparently Kentucky suffered against Georgia just like South Carolina did against LSU? Who is holding these SEC refs accountable??" one fan wrote.

It’s all about money. So yes, the refs lean their calls one way or another based on which team has the best chance to make the playoffs for their conference. It’s sad, but true.
