Second person dead, one still in critical condition in Court Ave. shooting

DES MOINES, Iowa — A second person has now died following the shooting on Water Street and Court Avenue Sunday morning, according to Des Moines Police.

At 2:06 a.m. police responded to reports of gunfire at the court district. When they arrived on scene, they found a 29-year-old male dead, and two males in critical condition .

A 34-year-old male was in critical condition at a local hospital following the shooting. DMPD announced that the man has now died. This marks the city’s 11th homicide of the year.

DMPD are conducting an investigation into the shooting, more information will be released as it becomes available.
