Minnesota Vikings fans across the country held their collective breath as team trainers helped star wide receiver Justin Jefferson to the blue medical tent in the second half against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, September 15.

As time passed, it became clear that Jefferson had suffered an injury of sorts to his leg. First he left the game, then he left the field and headed to the locker room.

Before the end of the Vikings' impressive home victory over the reigning NFC champion, reporters confirmed that Jefferson had suffered a quad injury. During the postgame, the wideout spoke to the injury and brushed it off as more or less a non-issue.

"Justin Jefferson said he's not concerned about his 'thigh bruise, contusion, whatever you want to call it,'" Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune reported via an X post. "Expects to be ready for next week."

That is the best news Minnesota could have hoped for, with wideout Jordan Addison still recovering from an ankle injury and questionable for Week 3. Tight end T.J. Hockenson will also remain sidelined for several games due to a knee injury he sustained late last season during a game against the Detroit Lions .

Meanwhile, the Vikings are 2-0 and will host the Houston Texans in Minneapolis next Sunday -- apparently with a healthy Jefferson in the offensive huddle.

Fake news, JJ did his heavy lifting by the 3rd Quarter, why risk an actual injury, rest him was the idea, but then the speculation would be why isn't he playing, it's a long season, we need him healthy when it counts
