The Minnesota Vikings made a strong statement today with a 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers . They controlled much of the game, showcasing their dominance. This victory puts them at 2-0 for the first time since 2016, showing they’re a team to watch this season.

On the downside, the Vikings lost two important players in the second half due to injuries. Superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson left late in the third quarter after a collision with Nick Bosa. Standout rookie LB Dallas Turner also exited in the second half.

Minnesota Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell shares injury update

After the win, head coach Kevin O’Connell took to the post-game press conference to share some updates on Justin Jefferson and Dallas Turner, both of which sounded optimistic.

Jefferson then met with media and gave his own update, calling the injury “just a lil thigh bruise”. I’m not up on the hip hop scene these days, but unless JJ is shouting out a “fresh” new rapper, it sounds like he’ll be ok.

O’Connell gave an encouraging update on Justin Jefferson, saying he’s up and moving around. Jefferson is considered day-to-day, which is a positive sign, and hopeful he won’t miss next week’s game against the Houston Texans.

Justin Jefferson had an impressive day with 4 catches for 133 yards , highlighted by a jaw-dropping 97-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Darnold that set the internet on fire.

Jefferson continues to prove just how vital he is to the Vikings’ offense, especially with Jordan Addison already dealing with an injury. The Vikings simply can’t afford to be without Jefferson for long.

Kevin O’Connell also shared that first-round rookie Dallas Turner is dealing with a knee issue. While he didn’t provide many details, O’Connell reassured that the injury isn’t expected to sideline Turner for the long term.

Turner notched 2 tackles in today’s game . Last week, in his debut with the Vikings against the Giants, he stood out with 3 tackles and a sack. It’s been a solid beginning to his NFL career, and we’re looking forward to seeing him back on the field soon.
