The Minnesota Vikings beat the San Francisco 49ers by a 23-17 score but they didn't come out of it unscathed.

During the game, the Vikings suffered two pivotal injuries , one on each side of the ball. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered a quad injury during the third quarter and edge rusher Dallas Turner suffered a knee injury on the final 49ers drive of the game.

During his postgame press conference, O'Connell updated the status of both players and it appears to be more good than bad.

Jefferson suffered his injury when he accidentally got leg whipped in the thigh by 49ers linebacker Fred Warner. He limped off the field with some help and ended up going into the locker room under his own power. Leg contusions often don't end up being much, but they are often painful. How he responds over the next few days is going to be a big deal.

For what it's worth, Jefferson did say after the game that he plans on playing next week.

A knee injury for Turner is a little bit more of a concern for the Vikings. He suffered the injury when rushing the passer on that final drive but the origin of the injury wasn't clear on the broadcast. He was seen walking around the locker room after the game so hopefully it won't impact his status on Sunday.

We will likely learn more about both players on Monday afternoon when O'Connell speaks to the media.
