Recipe: Texas-Style Chocolate Bundt Cake with Ganache Glaze
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup hot coffee
1 tbsp vanilla extract
For the Ganache Glaze:
8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a bundt pan well with butter and flour.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add in the dry ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk and coffee, beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
While the cake cools, prepare the ganache. Heat the cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until just simmering. Remove from heat and pour over the chopped chocolate. Let sit for a minute, then whisk until smooth.
Stir in the butter and vanilla extract until the ganache is glossy and rich. Let it cool for about 5 minutes before pouring it over the cooled cake.
Drizzle the ganache over the bundt cake, letting it cascade down the sides for that perfect Texas-style finish.
The Sweet Texan Finish
This Chocolate Bundt Cake with Ganache Glaze isn’t just a dessert—it’s a statement. The deep richness of the chocolate pairs beautifully with the glossy ganache, creating a mouthwatering combination that’s as big in flavor as Texas is in size. Whether you're sharing it at a potluck or enjoying a slice with your favorite Texan brew, this cake is a showstopper. Its beautiful presentation and bold flavors embody the heart of Texas hospitality—sweet, rich, and unforgettable.
