The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a detailed forecast for the upcoming week, highlighting a mix of cooler temperatures, increased winds, and light precipitation.

Today, the region will experience cooler conditions west of the mountains, with a deep marine layer in place. Breezy winds are expected in the deserts this afternoon and evening. On Monday, cooler temperatures will persist, accompanied by a chance of light showers west of the mountains, particularly on the coastal slopes of the San Bernardino Mountains. Rainfall totals could range from 0.05 to 0.15 inches in coastal areas and valleys, with higher amounts possible on south-facing slopes.

Winds will intensify, with peak gusts of 35 to 45 mph in the desert mountain slopes and potential gusts up to 50 mph through the San Gorgonio Pass. Monday night may bring another round of isolated showers, mainly in San Diego County.

The middle of the week will see brief warming on Tuesday before cooler and windier conditions return on Wednesday and Thursday. The forecast suggests additional chances of light precipitation and strong winds, particularly in desert regions and through mountain passes. By Friday, warmer temperatures are expected as ridging builds in from the west, with a potential for weak offshore flow contributing to further warming over the weekend.
