A significant cooling trend and widespread gusty winds are expected across Southern Nevada starting tonight, as a large low-pressure system moves into the region. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas predicts south to southwest winds gusting 40-50 mph, with the strongest winds hitting Inyo and Esmeralda counties tonight and spreading east by Monday afternoon.

Along with cooler temperatures, dropping by 10-15 degrees on Monday, there is potential for rainfall in parts of northern Inyo and Esmeralda counties. These areas may see up to 1 inch of rain, with the possibility of isolated flash flooding. The heaviest rain is expected between 5 AM and 11 AM Monday. Further south, dry conditions will persist.

A second system midweek is expected to bring another round of cool air and scattered showers. Stay updated on local forecasts as conditions develop.
