    With just minutes into the Emmy Awards returning, hosts Dan and Eugene Levy hit out about The Bear being in the comedy category with five-word jab.

    The iconic father and son duo did not hold back as they got the Emmy's off to a rip-roaring start. Dan and Eugene Levy left fans stunned with their jibe about front runners The Bear.

    They said that like the bear... "We're not making any jokes."

    The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards returned tonight, with The Bear and Baby Reindeer sweeping the board in the nominations.

    Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph announced the Emmy nominees live from the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood last July. Tony previously won two Emmy Awards for his role in Veep and Sheryl Lee Ralph won in 2022 for her role in Abbott Elementary and gave an iconic, empowering speech.

    This year's Emmy Awards is taking place in Los Angeles at the Peacock Theater on September 15 at 8pm EST. The star-studded event is being hosted by iconic father and son duo Eugene and Dan Levy .

    Last year's awards aired earlier this year after delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes last year. Some big winners last year were The Bear , Succession's final season, and the limited series Beef.

    The Bear has a whopping 23 nominations, making history with the most nods in a single season for the comedy category. It was previously held by 30 Rock with 22 nominations in 2009. Shogun has the highest drama nominations with 25, while the highly acclaimed limited series Baby Reindeer has 12.

    There have been other historic moments in terms of nominations for actors. Lily Gladstone and Kali Reis are both nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, Movie or Anthology category respectively for Under the Bridge and True Detective. This makes them the first Indigenous women to receive acting Emmys. D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai also is the first Indigenous actor nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Reservation Dogs.

    Sofia Vergara is the first Latina to earn the nod for Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series. She nomination for her titular role in Griselda. Anna Sawai could make history as the first Japanese woman to win an Emmy if she secures the win for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series.
