https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0miIXw_0vXdWOI400 Jane’s Addiction has addressed a heated incident involving frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro during a recent performance. During their show at the Lender Pavilion in Boston, Farrell angrily confronted Navarro while they were playing “Ocean Size.” In the viral footage, Farrell aggressively bumped into Navarro, shouted at him, and eventually threw a punch before crew members intervened. The altercation led to the abrupt end of the concert as the stage went dark. The following day, the band released a statement apologizing to fans for what happened and announcing the cancellation of their upcoming show in Bridgeport. Refunds were offered, but the band provided no further explanation for the outburst.
”We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night,” the band wrote in a statement shared on their Instagram story. “As a result we will be canceling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport.”

Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau, later shared some context on social media, explaining that tensions within the band had been building. She noted that Perry had been struggling with tinnitus and a sore throat, and frustration peaked when fans in the front row complained that they couldn’t hear him over the loud instruments. This led to Farrell losing his temper onstage, escalating the situation with Navarro.

“Clearly there had been a lot of tension and animosity between the members… the magic that made the band so dynamic. Well, the dynamite was lit. Perry got up in Dave’s face and body-checked him,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band. Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the first row started complaining up to Perry, cussing at him that the band was [playing] too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.”

Dave Navarro took to Instagram and shared a positive takeaway from the night. He mentioned that he had the chance to spend time with his friend and renowned artist Joe Coleman. Navarro encouraged people to check out Coleman’s work if they weren’t already familiar with it.

I call BS on Perry saying his voice was constantly drowned out by the band. He went after the wrong guy. It’s the sound guy’s fault, and Perry’s for not addressing it pre-show, or during the show for that matter.
