Central sports update

Volleyball

The Central volleyball team lost 3-0 to Holy Family Catholic Sept. 3 (19-25, 20-25, 19-25).

Avery Smith and Cali Fox led the team with 21 and 20 kills, while Ava Dose had 14, Katelyn Heuer had 12, Grace Cummins had seven and Vanessa Schmidt had six.

Haley Neubarth had 14 set assists.

Fox had three aces, Avery Smith and Avery Dose both had two, Kellen Dose had one, Schmidt had one and Neubarth had one.

Cummins had 13 digs, Schmidt had 12 and Kadence Arndt had 10.

Fox had three blocks, Heuer had two, Smith, Avery Dose and Arndt each had one.

Cross country

The Central cross country team traveled to Montgomery, MN to compete in the Gerry Smith Invitational.

Lexy Allison led the girls with a time of 24 minutes, 6.6 seconds and was followed by Brianna Duenow (26:26.1), Sarah Kostecka (28:08.8), Teagan Wenzel (28:43.0), Lacey Buckentin (28:50.8) and Avery Kranz (31:15.4).

Aiden Gillett led the boys with a time of 20:30.9) and was followed by Raymond Willems (20:44.9), Luke Allison (21:09.9), Teagan Just (21:28.0) and Emmitt Barthel (21:52.7).

Girls soccer

The Central girls soccer team defeated Rockford 2-1 after a 3-1 loss at Jordan last week.
