(670 The Score) Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft with the hope that he could become a franchise player at his position and elevate Chicago to victories.

On Sunday night, Williams suffered his first loss with the Bears as Chicago fell 19-13 to the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. Williams was 23-of-37 for 174 yards and two interceptions. He was also sacked seven times as Houston’s defense continuously generated pressure.

Following his first NFL loss, the 22-year-old Williams was eager to make corrections.

“Just kind of taking in the moment, understanding and trying to figure out what I need to get better at obviously not having watched film, done all those things yet,” Williams told reporters in Houston. “But just trying to figure out what areas was I off, what areas were we off, to have the outcome we have, which is not winning the day.

“We’re excited about this week coming up, we’re excited about all that, but obviously it sucks to lose.”

The Bears recorded just 205 net yards of offense in their loss to the Texans. In the Bears' win against the Titans in their season opener, Williams was 14-of-29 for 93 yards as Chicago posted only 148 yards of offense.

Bears running back Khalil Herbert recorded the team’s first and only offensive touchdown of the season Sunday night with a two-yard touchdown run. Williams has yet to throw his first NFL touchdown pass.

The Bears (1-1) will play the Colts (0-2) on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
