PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is commonly diagnosed in children and there are a wide variety of treatments to help them, but a new report says that 29% of cases continue into adulthood.

Unfortunately, a significant percentage of adults are not receiving treatment. Many were not diagnosed as children, while others do not receive routine health care.

Symptoms of ADHD in adults include problems with organization and difficulty focusing and paying attention. Adults with ADHD can also be hyperactive and impulsive.

Adult ADHD is associated with a higher risk of unemployment as well as substance misuse, divorce and automobile accidents.
