NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was stabbed and wounded in an unprovoked attack on an Upper Manhattan subway train on Monday morning, police said as they searched for the stabber.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was riding a northbound A train just before 5:30 a.m. when he was stabbed by another man at the 163rd Street–Amsterdam Avenue station in Washington Heights, according to police.

The suspect—described by police as a bald man wearing a gray sweatshirt—stabbed him in his left arm and then fled.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was in stable condition.

The suspect remained at large Monday as the investigation continued.
