New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll addressed questions regarding his job security after his team's 0-2 start following a 21-18 loss to the NFC East Division rival Washington Commanders on Sunday (September 15).

“I’ve done this for a long time. My focus is on our football team,” Daboll said during his postgame press conference via ProFootballTalk .

Daboll led the Giants to a 9-7-1 record and playoff berth during his first season with the franchise, but has since gone 6-13 through 21 games. New York became the second team in NFL history to score three touchdowns and still lose to an opponent that was held out of the end zone after Commanders kicker Austin Seibert made seven field goals, while Giants kicker Graham Gano , who was already dealing with a groin injury, hurt his hamstring on the opening kickoff.

Daboll's decision not to elevate kicker Jude McAtamney from the practice squad while starting an already hurt Gano led to punter Jamie Gillan handling emergency kicking duties and missing the team's lone PAT attempt on their first touchdown. The Giants would then unsuccessfully attempt two-point conversions on their second and third touchdowns which, along with Gillian's missed attempt, could have instead accounted for three PATs to tie the game at 21.

The Giants will face the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field in Week 3 on Sunday (September 22).
