Two men are dead following a shooting and a shootout with police in North Hollywood early Monday morning.

It happened just before 5 a.m. when two men got into it in a parking lot near the Target at Victory and Laurel Canyon boulevards, according to LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar.

One of the men shot the other one dead and when police arrived, the man turned the gun on officers. A brief chase ensued and came to an end in a parking structure where another shootout took place.
The man was then fatally shot by police.
