Red Zone Failures 'Extremely Frustrating' For Commanders' Jayden Daniels

The Washington Commanders secured their first win of the 2024 season, a 21-18 win over the New York Giants.

In what was an odd game from a Washington perspective, with all 21 points coming from kicker Austin Seibert's boot (7/7 on field goals), the Commanders had no trouble moving the ball up and down the field, but once in scoring range, they couldn't punch it in for a touchdown.

And that left Jayden Daniels rather irked.

"Extremely frustrating," Daniels said . "Obviously, we move the ball efficiently down the field and not to say anything but go out there and leave points on the field man, we work so hard to get down there. We want touchdowns."

Daniels was executing Kliff Kingsbury's offense rather well and had drives of 19, 11, 15, 10, 10, 13, and eight plays, which will make the failure to punch it in even more agitating.

But it is only Week 2, and the offense will find its groove. Kingsbury can take solace in that between the 20s, Washington did as it pleased. However moving forward, field goals won't win games, touchdowns will be the only thing on the menu.

The season will be one of progression for Daniels and the offense, and one could argue that things flowed better than they did last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So that's something.

With the Commanders seemingly fine with moving the ball, attention will now turn to rewarding themselves with touchdowns.

Washington got its first win on the board, but there's plenty to clean up moving forward.
