As the landslide crisis continues on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, residents in Rolling Hills are expected to lose their gas and electricity service this week.

Nearly 35 residents are expected to lose their gas by  3 p.m. Monday and more than 50 residents are supposed to have their power shut off by 6 p.m. Wednesday night ; however, city officials warned that it could happen at any time.

L.A.County Supervisor Janice Hahn spoke with KNX News’ Jon Baird. She said that while she’s heading to Washington D.C. to lobby for federal funding for a new metro light rail route, she will also discuss getting federal help for residents on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

“This land movement is bigger than just the city of Rancho Palos Verdes, just the city of Rolling Hills. Really, it's bigger than Los Angeles County,” she said. “It's the largest land movement in North America right now and I don't feel like it's been getting the attention that it deserves. Certainly, [not] from the federal government. So I'm gonna make that case.”

SoCal Gas also announced last week that the company will donate $50,000 to the Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Foundation.
