Cleaning your make-up brushes is probably low on your list of chores. But it's one that does pay off in the end.

In order to prevent your brushes from becoming a breeding ground for bacteria, it's important to clean them regularly.

A popular cleaning hack circulating on social media is using baby shampoo for washing the bristles.

All you need is a few drops plus some water and your make-up brushes will be as good as new. Wet the soiled bristles with some water and carefully massage in the shampoo.

Thoroughly rinse the brush afterwards and put up to dry with the bristles facing downwards. Make sure to only wet the bristles though; otherwise the glue that holds them in place could dissolve.

While this hack works well for removing powder residues from your make-up brushes, if you are using liquid products try curd soap instead, as it's able to dissolve the oils contained in them.
