Major League Baseball is looking into Alex Cora’s comments that suggested the Red Sox threw at Aaron Judge on purpose.

The league was reviewing the situation with no decision reached as of late Monday morning.

Cora, the Red Sox manager, suggested Sunday that his team had its “chance” at retribution on Saturday.

Saturday, Gerrit Cole hit Rafael Devers in the first inning and issued an intentional walk to Devers in the fourth.

Alex Cora basically admitted that Brayan Bello tried plunking Aaron Judge on purpose. He was asked if he considered yesterday's IBB/HBP fiasco closed:

Cora was irate, feeling that the intentional walk proved intent on the hit-by-pitch because the Yankees ace did not want to face Devers.

Asked Sunday whether the feud was finished, Cora said: “It was closed [Saturday] around the sixth inning. We had our chance. It didn’t happen.”

Tweaks the Yankees should make to end their 15-year World Series drought

In Saturday’s sixth inning, Brayan Bello threw a first-pitch fastball behind Judge’s legs.

The pitch did not make contact with Judge, who later flew out in the at-bat.

Cora said he spoke with Judge after the game in a conversation that was “professional.”

Judge declined to reveal much about that talk but understood the Red Sox’s anger.

“You play this game for a while, things like that happen,” Judge said after homering in a Yankees win Sunday in The Bronx. “I know they’re upset. I think three of their guys got hit that day. I think they’re just protecting their players. Something’s gotta happen. That’s the way this game gets policed and has been policed for 100 years.

“I think the biggest thing is, just don’t miss when you do it.”
