The simple issue of a union is that the district pays the faculty senate each school site has a representative. Once an issue arises the board calls the teacher into HR and the HR superintendent tells them they are their only contact at CUSD, even if it’s a work comp case. Then this HR superintendent calls a Clovis Pd and files a police report on the teacher for harassment when they contact them, as their faculty senator. It’s all recorded and written in contracts. That issue is now coming to court and the big factor is the CUSD employees weren’t contacting the Clovis pd directly but calling their local church leader and having a fellow church family member in the Clovis pd write the criminal complaint. The case being prepared and tried outside of Fresno county is seeking 2 billion dollars from the district, the city of Clovis and the Mormon church. The same Clovis pd is a subject of several of the Boy Scouts of America sexual assault cases. All coming from the Clovis East area.
