Pharrell Williams announced his decision to postpone his Something In The Water festival hours after tickets went on sale.

The two-day event was scheduled to go down October 12 and 13 in Pharrell's hometown of Virginia Beach. Virginia residents had just begun buying their tickets when organizers published a message from Pharrell. In a statement posted on Friday, September 13, the artist and fashion designer explained why he pushed back his music festival to 2025.

"[The festival] just isn’t ready yet," he said. "This is not a Pharrell festival, this is the state of Virginia's festival so it has to be the best."

The statement was posted while Virginia residents stood in line to buy tickets. Fans who already copped their passes will be refunded automatically. Those who paid cash can get their money back at the box office inside the Veterans United Home Loan Amphitheater in Virginia Beach.

Pharrell's music festival has experienced various issues since it launched in 2019. Like most events, Something In The Water was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. Ahead of its grand comeback in 2022, the famed artist relocated the festival to Washington, D.C. following city officials' lackluster response to his cousin's death, who was shot and killed by police. The festival returned to Virginia Beach last year, however, the final day was canceled due to severe weather.

"This has to be EPIC, and trust me, after this long wait, it will be," Pharrell concluded.

Something In The Water festival has been rescheduled for April 2025.
