Chiefs' Predicted Replacement for Isiah Pacheco Has Fans Shaking Their Heads

The Kansas City Chiefs' matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals came down to the wire in Week 2. While the Chiefs managed to walk away with a 26-25 win, they lost running back Isiah Pacheo to injury.

During the final drive against the Bengals, Pacheco, the Chiefs' No. 1 back, fractured his right fibula. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters on September 16 that there is no timetable for his return.

As for Pacheco's replacement, "We will go with the guys that we have here now. (Chiefs general manager Brett) Veach is going through his list and looking at people, and we'll see where that goes but we're blessed to have some good people here."

While Reid plans to look internally, as they have former undrafted rookie Carson Steele and Samaje Perine on the 53-man roster, several NFL analysts believe the Chiefs will make a a move in free agency and bring back Kareem Hunt.

Sports Radio 810 host Jason Anderson posted , "I woke up this morning thinking no chance of a reunion w/ Kareem Hunt. I’m now hearing that door isn’t closed. It’s a real possibility. I’m not saying they sign Hunt, but don’t be shocked when you hear his name connected with RBs Chiefs are talking to/bringing in for a work out."

Hunt, drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, earned Pro Bowl honors his rookie season. However, Kansas City abruptly him in November 2018 season after a video obtained by TMZ showed Hunt brutally beating a 19-year-old woman outside a hotel room. The team said Hunt lied about the incident following his release.

The idea of Hunt, 29, who spent the last four years with the Cleveland Browns, returning to Kansas City didn't sit well with a lot of fans. One man posted , "They're not going to sign Kareem Hunt, guys. Stop it."

Another person wrote , "Chiefs fans Remember visions of Kareem Hunt in 2018 when talking about him replacing Pacheco. Facts are over his last 250 carries in Cleveland he barely averaged 3 yards per carry. Carson Steele is pry better than a nearly 30 year old Kareem."

AtoZ Sports' Charles Goldman wrote that re-signing Hunt  "would admittedly be a drastic change in heart for Kansas City," instead suggesting the Chiefs could bring back Jerrick McKinnon.

A fan account posted , "Not a fan of the Kareem Hunt signing idea. Chiefs need a workhorse back. Hunt in this stage of his career is more a complimentary back, like Perine."

Isn't it funny that after the Chiefs cut him by doing the "CORRECT THING", the Browns picked him up around 7-10 days later....and NO ONE critiqued the Browns about that decision. So I don't want to hear anyone say anything about the Chiefs bringing him back.
