Just two games into his second year with the Carolina Panthers , the team has decided to bend former No. 1 overall quarterback Bryce Young in favor of veteran signal caller Andy Dalton. This move more than likely means the end of the Bryce Young Era with new head coach Dave Canales looking for an answer under center.

Could the team turn back to Young again down the road? It’s always possible, but the timing of this move tells you pretty much everything you need to know. The Panthers are off to another 0-2 start and could be once again in contention for the first overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft .

That could mean they might also be in the quarterback market once again. If they are, here is an early look at some quarterbacks who could be available next April, either with the top selection or a little further back in the first round.

    Carson Beck ( Georgia )

The quarterback most likely to be the first signal caller off the board is Beck, who might not be flashy but he brings a tremendous baseline to the table. A big frame at 6 '4 ¼” and 218 pounds, he brings prototypical size and arm strength to work well within the pocket. You aren’t going to ask Beck to do much outside of structure but if things are good around him, he can be an outstanding quarterback.

    Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)

Sanders is viewed as a wildcard by some due to his outward personality and criticism of teammates. From the NFL side, he is admired for his character as a person. As a player, he might be the most accurate quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class. If he can cut out some of the recklessness at times, you have yourself a really good point guard at the position. Sanders is tremendous at attacking space for his skill position players.

    Cam Ward (Miami)

There might be a bigger wildcard in the 2025 quarterback class than Ward. From an arm talent perspective, there isn’t a throw he can’t make. His decision making with the Hurricanes has also been better so far. Ward’s accuracy is still a work in progress. He just tends to miss some easy throws at times, which can be frustrating. If Ward does hit, however, you have yourself a playmaker who can make everyone around him better.

    Quinn Ewers ( Texas )

Speaking of wildcards, Ewers has had a ton of hype since he was a top ranked quarterback recruit coming out of the state of Texas. He has just started to really tap into his upside, and possesses a ton of natural arm talent. There are clearly still areas of concern but there has been incremental improvement. Ewers has the talent to throw off platform and make some impressive throws out of structure.

I would gladly take any of these guys other than Sanders. That would pretty much be Bryce all over again. We don't need a frigging point guard. We need a franchise quarterback. And a new owner.
