Faribault girls swim and dive took part in the Cougar Relays at Mankato East this past Saturday, posting a sixth-place finish out of seven teams.

Like is often the case for the Falcons, a somewhat shorthanded roster limited Faribault’s ability to rack up points from depth of scoring, but the Falcons still managed some solid results in a relay-only format.

The team of Olivia Fischer, Morgan Klumb, Claire Ray and Hallie Taghon posted a fifth place finish in the 200 yard medley relay in a wildly tight race that saw second, third, four and fifth place all finish with a time within a second of each other. Second place Mankato West posting a time of 2:04.28 while Faribault finished with a time of 2:04.87 in fifth.

That same team would finish third in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay 4x50 Free with a time of 1:51.19, just about four seconds ahead of fourth place and two seconds behind second.

On the board, Hattie Danberry finish the event with a score of 136.10, good enough for 11th place while Abigail LaLiberty finished in 15th with a 110.65.

The Falcons will turn around and hit the pool on Thursday against Mankato West. Events are set to begin at 6 p.m.
