The Arch Manning hype train is definitely starting to depart the station after the Longhorns' 56-7 win over UTSA on Saturday.

Manning replaced Quinn Ewers early in the second quarter after the latter left the game with an abdominal injury .  Manning wasted no time in showing off what he could do, connecting with DeAndre Moore, Jr. for a 19-yard touchdown on his first throw.

By the time it was over, Manning had turned 9 completions on 12 attempts into 223 yards and 4 passing touchdowns.  He also showed his athleticism with an impressive 67-yard run for a touchdown where he left defenders in his wake down the field.  He looked every bit like the #1 overall recruit in the country.

On Sunday, ESPN's Paul Finebaum had a bold and definitive statement about Arch in response to a comment from Matt Barrie about the Manning family, how none of them has won the Heisman Trophy, and what the hype will be like when Arch is eventually in the running for the award (22:20 of the video).

"He's going to win it," Finebaum flatly said in response.

That's a pretty strong thing to say as an afterthought, as even his talented uncles, with all the attention they had and the accomplishments they racked up on the football field, weren't able to bring the award home.

However, Arch's potential, both on the ground and through the air, is hard to deny, and Steve Sarkisian is doing a tremendous job bringing in top talent around him that should allow him to play at an extremely high level whenever his time as an engrained starter comes to pass.

Speaking of Peyton and Eli, Finebaum did have an amusing suggestion for the broadcast for Arch if and when he ends up leading the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff national championship game.

"If they get to the championship game, and Arch is playing, will ESPN do a Manningcast?"

"Oh, well done," Barrie responded. "I mean, you have to. And you've got have to Cooper, his dad, on there.  You've got to have the whole thing.  Archie.  You've got to have the whole crew."

Now, that would be some must watch TV.  We'll see down the road if Manning and the Longhorns can eventually make it happen.
