Pacheco, 25, underwent X-rays Sunday (September 15) night after suffering the injury during the Chiefs' 26-25 win against the Cincinnati Bengals and was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday to determine whether there was a fracture and/or ligament damage to his right ankle, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN . The two-time Super Bowl champion was seen on crutches and had his right foot in a walking boot while leaving Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.

"I know it won't be this week and it'll probably be more than that," head coach Andy Reid said when asked about a potential timeline for Pacheco's return via ESPN . "... It's going to take a little bit of time there.''

The Chiefs are reportedly bringing in veteran running back Kareem Hunt amid Pacheco's injury. Hunt, 29, spent his first two seasons with the Chiefs, which included recording a career-best 1,327 rushing yards, which also the league, during his rookie season in 2017.
