Heading into Saturday's Week 3 matchup against the UTSA Roadrunners, Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers took the field as a Heisman frontrunner.

He ended up leaving the game early in the second quarter after suffering a non-contact injury later confirmed to be an "oblique strain."

This made way for Arch Manning to not only take over but dominate. The former five-star quarterback threw for 223 yards and accumulated five total touchdowns. Whether or not Manning will start in place of Ewers this week remains unknown.

When speaking to the media on Monday, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian revealed that Ewers is questionable for their Week 4 game against the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks.

“He’s questionable,’ Sarkisian told the media regarding Ewers' status.

The head coach also revealed that he would be questionable for Texas' Week 5 game against Mississippi State next week on Saturday, September 28.

"There was a non-contact deal, which we touched on,” Sarkisian said. “The oblique strain there. When you guys get your injury report next Wednesday, when that officially begins, he will be listed as questionable.

“We’re going to monitor him day to day and see what this looks like. But he would be questionable for Saturday on the report for next week.”

Before going down with the injury, Ewers seemed well on his way to strengthening his Heisman bid. He finished the game having completed 14-of-16 passes for 185 yards with two touchdown passes and a pick.

In the meantime, Sarkisian also revealed that they'll be adjusting the number of practice reps that Manning gets with the starters as Ewers works his way back.

Following the 56-7 win, the Longhorns jumped the Georgia Bulldogs in the AP Poll and are ranked as the No. 1 team in college football for the first time since 2008.

Despite the questions at quarterback, they are still 44.5-point favorites against the Warhawks.

I still say Texas and Georgia either one have played anyone. How they are ranked #1 right now is beyond me. It's way to early in the season for anyone to be playing with those numbers
