Viral Sign In Carolina Shows How Badly Panthers Fans Are Down

It hasn't been a good time to be a Carolina Panthers supporter. One Panthers fan has gone viral for summing up the fan base's misery on a sign for the world to see.

On Monday, the Panthers announced the surprising decision to bench quarterback Bryce Young. The move comes only two games into the new season.

Carolina is just 0-2 and still has plenty of time to turn their season around in theory. But the product on the field thus far hasn't inspired much confidence that a late-season surge is in the cards.

What's even worse is that a few ex-Panthers have won their end of the proverbial football breakup. A Carolina supporter put up a sign contrasting their current QB with the team's old ones. The image has made quite an impression on X.

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield, both former Panthers starters, have begun their respective seasons 2-0. Former Panthers head coach Matt Rhule has also made waves for his Nebraska squad's 3-0 start to the college football season.

The sign could have arguably included all-time Panthers "what-if" QB CJ Stroud, whose Houston Texans are also 2-0 to start the year.

The saving grace for the Panthers is that Caleb Williams, who the Chicago Bears drafted with Carolina's pick, hasn't played well as of yet. But given the Panthers' rotten luck, it may only be a matter of time for the USC alum.

Carolina may need to look to future drafts to find their next permanent answer at QB. But fans aren't exactly optimistic that the Panthers would be a welcoming environment for the next star QB prospect .
