ROCKINGHAM — Following a career performance, a member of the Richmond Senior High School football team makes an appearance in The Richmond Observer’s weekly feature series.

    “GROUND GAME” WITH JORDAN BOSTICK

The Raiders responded in Week 4 with a 21-10 victory over Myers Park, scoring all of their points unanswered in Friday’s home game.

Resorting to the ground game, Richmond relied heavily on Bostick’s efforts out of the backfield. He rushed the ball 15 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns.

Averaging 8.1 yards per carry, Bostick set new personal single-game career-highs in rushing yards and rushing scores. He was one carry away from tying his single-game high, which he set a week before.

Bostick also caught one pass in the victory, which went for 11 yards.

Scoring a five-yard rushing touchdown, Bostick helped give Richmond a 14-10 lead with 11:22 left in the fourth quarter.

With the game nearing its final minutes, Bostick broke loose for a 32-yard rushing touchdown following one of Richmond’s four defensive takeaways. That touchdown made it 21-10 with 1:28 to go.

Richmond (2-2) will open Sandhills Athletic Conference play at Southern Lee High School (2-1) Friday at 7:30 p.m.
