During his weekly radio show Monday night, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked for the latest on the status of star defensive lineman Peter Woods.

    “He’s day-to-day,” Swinney said. “He’s like all of us, he’s day-to-day.”

Last week on his radio show, Swinney said the Tigers dodged a bullet with Woods and his injury.

The sophomore was injured in the first half against App State on Sept. 7 when he got chop blocked below the knees in the second quarter.

“It could’ve been a lot worse, so we’re thankful that it wasn’t,” Swinney said last week.

Prior to the App State game, Woods tallied a career-high 2.5 tackles for loss, including his first career sack, among his six tackles in Clemson’s season opener against Georgia.

A former five-star prospect from Alabama and 2023 freshman All-American, Woods came into this season credited with 27 tackles (2.5 for loss) and a forced fumble in 307 snaps over 12 games (two starts) last season.
