Wheel of Fortune contestant 'one word away from a million' as fans all say same thing

A Wheel of Fortune contestant was one letter away from winning the grand prize.

On the Monday, September 16 episode of the game show, host Ryan Seacrest introduced viewers to Vivian, Mike and Deb. Vivian was on a roll and did not only make it to the end but had the million dollar wild card . She beat Mike, who won $13,200 plus a trip to Panama, and Deb, who won $11,600 and picked it up at the end but it was not enough.

Vivian got ready to win big and made it to the end with the category being "What are you doing?"

During the final round, Ryan gave Vivian the letters "R,S,T,L,N,E" to help her get ahead and win big. All she needed was three more consonant's and vowel. Vivian guessed the letters "C,H,M, I and P." The wild card gave her the opportunity to pick more letter instead of four.

Sadly, it was not enough and the word was "OFFERING SOME HELP," one letter away from winning it all. Ryan then opened the envelope which revealed that she could have won one million dollars.

Viewers at home were in shock and could not believe how close Vivian was. One person on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: "Aw damn!! Vivian nearly won the million dollars in Ryan Seacrest’s 2nd week. I feel so sad for her!" Another person wrote: "AIN'T NO WAY SHE MISSED THAT EASY PUZZLE! Plus the prize was 1 MILLION DOLLARS!!! WHAT!!!!" A third person wrote: "She was one word away from becoming a millionaire.." A fourth user wrote: "Oh Vivian, that's so heartbreaking. She missed out on the million [two broken heart's emoji]."

This was the second week since a new season of Wheel of Fortune premiered and with a new host. Ryan Seacrest took over for Pat Sajak, who recently retired. Vanna White stood behind as she recorded 8,000 episodes with Pat. During the second to last episode with Pat, she had a message for him, saying: "I can't believe that tomorrow is our last show together. I don't know how to put into words what these past 41 years have meant to me, but I'm gonna try..."
