Cross Canadian Ragweed Updates Their Social Media For The First Time Since 2011, Website Hints That “Something” Is Coming In 2025

First Turnpike, now Ragweed? The country band formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1994 is a foundation band of the Red Dirt movement. With hits like "Boys From Oklahoma" and "Sick and Tired," Cross Canadian Ragweed grew a massive following over their fifteen years together before sadly breaking up in 2010. When they broke up, drummer Randy Ragsdale
expressed that he needed to step away and prioritize his son, who has autism. "For many years my band has been my top priority. Being in a touring band you have to give it your all, give it 100 percent. Right now, I need to be at home for my family, particularly my son JC, who has autism. He’s 10 years old now and still struggling in his development. I feel the only way I can help him is to be more hands-on and close to home." While he hoped that Grady Cross, Cody Canada, and Jeremy Plato would find another drummer and continue to tour, Canada noted that they would not continue without the band's original members gracing the stage together. While Cody Canada went on after the band broke up to have a successful career with his band, Cody Canada & The Dearly Departed, Ragweed fans always hoped that they would eventually come back together, even if it were just for a night. However, in an interview with
Rolling Stone in February of this year, he even noted that the band would never reunite. “The offers I get for Ragweed are really hard to overlook sometimes. But people don’t realize the hard feelings that are still there. It’s like asking somebody who is divorced if they’ll get remarried. The answer is ‘F*ck no,’ right? Well, what if somebody offers you three million dollars to get remarried? I’d love to be able to say yes, but I wouldn’t feel right about it. And I wish people would remember what we actually sounded like. The best nights of their lives were some of the worst performances of my life.” But...are they about to get remarried after all? When you visit the official Cross Canadian Ragweed website, which appears to have been reactivated for the first time in over a decade, there is nothing but a cloth covering...well, something on the home page. Along with this note, their social media (which before yesterday hadn't been updated since 2011) shows the same image as their profile picture. https://www.instagram.com/p/C__5gV5AGN2/ Does this mean a reunion tour? Does this mean new music? Are they going to pull a Sturgill Simpson and build up a massive amount of hype before announcing a re-release of a previous record? Even though I do have mild PTSD from Sturgill pulling a fast one on us multiple times with his website teasers, I am fully letting myself fall for this and hoping that we get a Ragweed reunion. Check out some of the commentary around those who have also seen these hints that the greatest red dirt band of all time is cooking up something. https://twitter.com/OldRowSwig/status/1835822279084634142 https://twitter.com/SamanthaLeeTX/status/1835826867204673682 https://twitter.com/JessicaDomel/status/1835823395927117971 https://twitter.com/roidwards/status/1835838742776500482 https://twitter.com/DawgVonErich/status/1835822105927028913 https://twitter.com/TUsreymusic/status/1835807582226706791
