Miley Cyrus Sued for Copyright Infringement Over Hit Song "Flowers"

Miley Cyrus is facing a lawsuit alleging that her chart-topping hit "Flowers" copied elements from Bruno Mars' popular song "When I Was Your Man." The lawsuit was filed by Tempo Music Investments, which claims to own part of the copyright to Bruno's song.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Tempo Music alleges that "Flowers" borrows heavily from "When I Was Your Man" in terms of melody, harmony, and chorus structure. The lawsuit claims that Cyrus and her team "intentionally copied" these elements, including the chord progressions and even some of the lyrics.

Tempo Music argues that the similarities between the two songs are undeniable, insisting that Cyrus's Grammy-winning track would not have been possible without Mars' original song, which was released a decade earlier and topped the charts.

In their complaint, Tempo Music claims that Cyrus, her record label, and her producers had full access to Mars' song. The lawsuit seeks financial compensation and demands that Cyrus be prohibited from further distributing or performing "Flowers."

Notably, Bruno Mars himself is not listed as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
