STAFFORD, Va. – A teenager tried to fool police into thinking all was okay after her phone dialed 911, reported her car crash, and helped dispatchers listen in on her game plan.

According to a media release from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the incident occurred in the early morning hours of September 14.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. a SCSO deputy responded to Embrey Mill Road for an automatic crash notification from an iPhone.

During the notification, the dispatcher was able to hear a female say, “They’re gonna know,” and “I can’t blow zeros.”

The same female voice then hurriedly advised the dispatcher to not send anyone – because all occupants were “fine.”

When the SCSO deputy arrived on-scene, he observed a Dodge Charger completely off the roadway, in several bushes.

The 17-year-old driver initially advised she had swerved to avoid hitting a deer. Later, she admitted she’d been playing Smirnoff “beer pong” before getting behind the wheel. She was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Criminal complaints for driving under the influence, driving after illegally consuming alcohol, unlawful possession of alcohol, and underage possession of marijuana were filed.

Juvenile Intake was contacted.  They, however, declined to detain the teen. She was released into the custody of her parents. Police did not provide details about other occupants of the vehicle. However, no injuries were reported.
