Coming off of their first victory of 2024 on Sunday, the New York Jets will have a short week before they host the New England Patriots on Thursday night for their home opener.

With the team just days away from the divisional matchup, the Jets have released their first injury report of the week.

The team had two crucial players miss practice in linebackers Jermaine Johnson and CJ Mosley. Those absences, while unfortunate, likely won't surprise many as both players were carted off of the field against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Mosley has a chance to play as he recovers from a toe injury, according to coach Robert Saleh.

However, Johnson is more likely to be placed on injured reserve, as the team fears that he suffered a torn achilles on Sunday. Johnson's absence is a big loss for New York, as the team was expecting a breakout season from the third-year edge rusher.

Outside of Johnson and Mosley, the remaining players on the injury report all practiced. Cornerbacks DJ Reed and Michael Carter II, and offensive lineman Tyron Smith were all limited in practice. Smith's absence for part of practice is not cause for concern as it was for rest, according to the report.

Meanwhile running back Breece Hall, who stood on the sideline for some of the Jets' win on Sunday with a quad injury, practiced in-full, and is not expected to miss any time.
